Marrakech Stargazing is an independent astronomy tour operator in Morocco, creating guided stargazing and astronomy experiences for travellers, families, private groups, hotels, travel professionals and anyone curious about the night sky.
Our goal is simple: to make astronomy accessible, engaging and memorable while connecting the beauty of Morocco’s landscapes with the wonders above them.
Rather than operating as a hotel or accommodation provider, Marrakech Stargazing specializes in astronomy activities. Experiences can be organized at suitable observation locations, at selected partner properties, or at a guest’s own accommodation when the location provides appropriate conditions for astronomical observation.
Marrakech Stargazing was created from a passion for astronomy and a desire to share the night sky with visitors in an understandable and inspiring way.
Each experience is designed to go beyond simply looking through a telescope. Guests are introduced to the sky step by step, learning how to recognize prominent stars, constellations, planets and other celestial objects visible during their visit.
A typical session may begin with a guided exploration of the sky using a laser pointer, followed by explanations about the objects visible that evening and telescope observations selected according to the season and observing conditions.
The experience is adapted to the audience, whether participants are discovering astronomy for the first time or already have a deeper interest in the subject.
Morocco offers remarkable opportunities for astronomical observation, from the landscapes surrounding Marrakech and the Atlas Mountains to desert regions and other locations with darker skies.
Our role is to select or work with locations where the experience can be both enjoyable and astronomically worthwhile.
Because observing conditions are important, every location is considered according to factors such as artificial lighting, visibility of the sky, weather, accessibility and the type of experience requested.
For guests who already have accommodation, we may also be able to organize a private astronomy session directly at their hotel, riad, villa or other property when lighting and observing conditions are suitable and the property permits the activity.
